What We Do The Temple Introduction Philosophy |
The Tantric
Temple (affectionately nicknamed the Golden Nipple) is a First and foremost, the Temple is a sacred space for quiet contemplation and one-on-one intimacy, for meditation or soft conversation, a place of peace and beauty. It's a good place to calm down a freak-out, have delicate communications, and help someone unstress. Secondly, it is a soft, dry space where adults can go to engage in sexual behavior out of the view of younger eyes, in an atmosphere of sacredness and sensuality. People who meet at festivals many times have no options but to bug campmates or play in the bushes. This provides a space that keeps sexuality sacred and focused. Finally, the Temple is an energy center, a point of introduction for the energies of the Universal male and the Universal female. (Call them God and Goddess, Yin and Yang, Matter and Energy, the Great Duality, as you will). Those who enter are treated to a higher spiritual vibration than is possible outside. The Golden Nipple has been at several major Pagan events in the Northwest; most notably Spiral Rhythms Festival, Sunfest, Anarchist's Beltane, and Northwest Fall Equinox Festival. We are hoping to have the Nipple debut at Burning Man 2006, and are looking for new venues that need a safe, private, place for their participants to go to mellow out. The temple is created from a 20 foot military parachute, bright yellow. Under this yellow canopy, bathed in yellow light, are soft rugs, blankets, pillows, curtains. An altar to the Divine Couple holds incense, wine, sensuous snacks, and other romantic indulgences. Along side the altar, descreetly placed, are bowls of condoms, lubes, and baby wipes, all available for public consumption, whether used in the temple or not. Under the rugs is a solid tarp which can cover (under certain circumstances) piles of hay or leaves that make the space even softer. Our Temple staff, both genders, are Safe Sex experts, Tantric Priests and Priestesses, community outreach representatives. We can help discreetly advise any couple who may have questions, issues, or problems. Our crew can set up and tear down the temple in less than 3 hours. We also tend to the space regularly, keeping the sheets changed and supplies full, keeping minors out. If the situation warrants, we can hold our Puja workshop in the space, (see "classes" page) or allow others to perform their workshops in this space. Two battery-powered lanterns light the space at night, making the magick even more special. We can attend any festival in the lower U.S. with enough notice, and typically do our thing in exchange for free entrance to the event, but are willing to barter other options.
