* Balancing meditation for Kundalini overload

How to deal with Negativity induced by Kundalini work:

The question was asked:

"I've read from several different sources that if kundalini energy is awakened before the energy centers have been properly cleared, a person can get physically and psychically unbalanced. Some sources go as far as to say that negative traits become amplified (neurosis or other anxieties, etc.) If this were to occur, what is a simple way to get rebalanced?"

First off, I'll tell you I've never heard of anyone going so far off the deep end with Kundalini that they took their own life. If one is aware of this energy, and one is playing with this energy, one is also aware that when something goes wrong DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. They typically go back to their teacher, the book they read, or the source of the information that they recieved. Or they seek out new sources.

That being said, if you are in a bind and you have no one to turn to immediately, try this:

When you notice something is going "wrong", stop and feel the energy of what is going "wrong". Did you loose your job/honey/house? Did someone get angry at you for no reason? Did you burst into tears during an interveiw? What was it that hit you as negative?

Feel that to it's most complete. Give your body, mind, and spirit permission to really feel the most negativeness that can fit in your system. Tell yourself "This is the worst it can get." Really wallow in it, feel free to feel totally horrible about it, allow worst-case scenarios to trample thru your head. Realize your system will not let that energy go until it knows you have really experienced it. So cry, punch pillows, kick cans, whatever it takes to get that energy OUT and thru your system. Experience it to it's utmost. Avoid blaming others at this point for what they did to contribute to the negativity; this is all about YOU.

Once your system has tired of this feeling, it will try to make you feel better by moving your thoughts to "well, you know, it's not so bad," or "if I had X, it would work out better for me." When you find your thoughts naturally drifting toward the positive side of the situation, or trying to figure out the problem itself, check with yourself to see if you are done with feeling like crap. If you are not, bring yourself back thru worst-cast scenario visualizations. If you are, then do this:

Try pranayama for a few minutes, allowing yourself to only focus on the Here and Now. When you catch your thoughts drifting, bring it back to your breathing. With each breath, allow the negative headspace to flow out with your exhale, and allow new insight and light to come in with your inhale.

As you are sitting and breathing, realize that Here and Now you are fine. Here and Now you are alive, heart beating. Whatever forces are playing upon you are not going to be as effective if you can be Here and Now at any time you want. Because Here and Now only hurts when you're not paying attention, or when you didn't learn what you needed to learn earlier.
